Project 67 - March 2004 - Mega Project1

This is another deserving case of financial assistance for a 27 year old girl, whose marriage did not materialize due to financial problems. Jolly, (27) is the daughter of Sri. Pathrose, Vadakkekarayil, Puthuveli. This poor family has no means to conduct the marriage of their daughter.
Association has sanctioned and amount of Rs.30,000/- as financial aid for the marriage of Jolly. Upon request from Jolly’s family and considering the lent period for Christians, payment of the amount is deferred till 30/04/2004.

 
 
Project 67 - March 2004 - Mega Project2
This mega project is for the financial assistance for the marriage of a poor unmarried girl of 35 years old, who marriage did not take place as the poor family could not raise necessary funds . E. j. Ammini d/o Smt. Mundi, Elavumkunnel House, Edayar has passed the marriageable age and several proposals did not materialize due to financial problems to meet even bear minimum requirements. Smt. Mundi is a 80 year old widow. Their only son Ayyappan is a heart patient. Their total asset is a small hut in a plot of 10 cents.

Association has donated Rs.3,000/- to Sri. M. P. Appu, Manjakkarayil, Pazhaya Road Colony as financial aid for treatment of his chronic lung disease.
 
Project 65 - February 2004
Association has donated Rs.3,000/- to Smt. S. Mini, Muttathil, as financial assistance to continue her treatment.

 
Project 64 - February 2004

Association has granted an amount of Rs.3,000/- to Sri. C. K. Manoj Kumar, Chethukunnel, Puthuveli to enable him to continue the treatment of his 10 year old sister, Binu Chandran who is suffering from T. B. bone marrow and small intestine.
 
Project 63 - January 2004
Association has donated Rs.2,500/- to Sri. T. O. Joseph, Thadathil House, Marika P. O. as an aid for his medical treatment. Sri. Joseph is had a stroke and the right side of his body is paralyzed.

 
Project 62 - January 2004

Association has donated Rs.2000/- to Smt. Shantha Cherian, House No. 290. Laksham Veedu Colony, Chellakkapady, Kizhakombu as a financial assistance to her poor family, who lost their only son in a traffic accident last year. She and her 78 year old mother are staying alone and has no one else to support them.
 
Project 61 - January 2004
Association has donated Rs.2000/- to Smt. Shiji Basily, House No. 244. Laksham Veedu Colony, Chellakkapady, Kizhakombu for treatment of her knee ailment. Shiji is a widow and mother of a 11 year old daughter. She is a casual labourer and has no one to support her.

Project 60 - December 2003
Meenu Subhash (7) d/o Subhash, Cherpukallumkal, Palakuzha is under treatment from Amritha Hospital Cochin, for heart problems. She has an opening on the heart and an expensive operation has to be performed to save her life. Her father Subhash is a rubber tapping worker is seeking help from kind hearted philanthropists and societies for assistance to meet the expenses for the operation.
Association has donated Rs.2000/- as an interim aid. When the operation is conducted we will donate an amount of Rs.25,000/- as a medical aid. .

 
Project 59 - December 2003

Smt. Kutty Amma (75), Nellimuttathu, Kavumbhagom, Kozhippilly has lost the sight of her one eye due to an accident 20 years back. Now her other eye also is about to turn blind. This unmarried old lady has no one to support her and now staying with a relative. Association has donated Rs.1000/- as a financial aid to this poor woman.

Smt. Bindu (28) d/o Thankappan, Thekkumcheril, Laksham Veedu Colony, Koothattukulam is under treatment for disorders of her heart valve since last 5 years. According to doctors, she has to continue medication life long and has to remain unmarried. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid to the poor family.

Association has donated Rs.2000/- to Sri. Nichil Lal, Puthenpurayil, Laksham Veedu Colony, Kizhakombu, is casual labourer who is finding it extremely difficult to bear the cost of treatment for his mother, who is a cancer patient.
 
Project 56 - December 2003
Saju Paul (17) s/o Paily, Thannikunnel, Laksham Veedu Colony, Chellakkappady, Kizhakombu is a 1st year student in Muttom Poly Technique. He is unable to continue his studies due to kidney ailment. His father, a poor casual labourer is unable to bear his medical expenses and continue the treatment. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid to the poor boy.

Association has donated Rs.2,500/- to Smt. Ammini Appu, Udiyappara House, Karamala who is undergoing treatment for heart valve problems in Sri. Chithira Hospital Trivandrum.
 
Project 54 - November 2003
Association has donated Rs. 2,500/- to Smt. K. M. Moni, Edattel, Veliyanoor for treatment of heart valve disease.

 
Project 53 - November 2003

Association has donated Rs. 1,500/- to Sri. M.G. Prasad, Puthenkulangara, Thirumarady as medical and financial aid. Sri. Prasad is a patient himself and his wife is also suffering from various ailments. They have two children and no source of income.
 
Project 52 - November 2003
Sri. Rajesh, Elkalayil, Pazhaya Road Colony, Koothattukulam is a cancer patient who had to undergo a major surgery and now unable to do any work to earn a livelihood. He was a head load worker and has only 3 cents of land and a small house. He has his mother, wife and two daughters to support. To help this poor and needy family the Association has donated Rs.2,500/-.

Smt. Rosamma Pathrose, Laksham Veedu Colony, Chellakkapady is a heart patient who is under treatment since 1993. Even with this deteriorating health condition, she is doing petty labouring jobs to pull on with her family and also to help her disabled sister. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as a financial aid to this poor woman.
 
Project 50 - October 2003
Vishnu (10) is the grandson of Sri. E. K. Karunakaran, Elavumthottiyil, Nambeli Colony, Chorakuzhi. Vishnu’s father has separated himself from his wife and child and married another woman. Since then Vishnu and his mother are looked after by Grand father Sri. Karunakaran. Vishnu had suddenly fell ill and had to undergo a major surgery for brain haemorrhage and doctors have suggested long term treatment for the complete cure. Association has donated Rs. 4,000/- as medical aid to this poor boy.

 
Project 49 - October 2003

Association has donated Rs.3,000/- to Smt. Mary Sebastian, Ambattu House, Koothattukulam for medial aid of her husband who is a cancer patient and completely bed ridden. he is under treatment from R.C.C. Trivandrum. The poor family is unable to bear the cost of medical expenses and therefore, seeking assistance from kind hearted people.
 
Project 48 - October 2003
Jayesh, s/o Ayyappan, Puthuvelputhenpura, Karimpana P.O. is under treatment from Kottayam Medical College for Congenital Complete Heart Block. Doctors have advised permanent Pace Maker implementation for his survival. Association has donated Rs.3,000/- as a part of his medical expenses.

Smt. Pennamma Kannankunju (50), Vettikkattupara House, Oliyappuram is a heart patient who needs long term treatment. Doctors have advised for a Pace Maker for her. Our Association has donated Rs.2000/- to her.

 
Project 46 - October 2003
Sri. Antony Ouseph, Muttanolil, Koothattukulam (60) is a cancer patient who is unable to continue with his job as a timber worker. He is under treatment from R. C. C. Trivandrum. Total assets of the family consisting of 6 members is 2.75 cents of land an unfinished small house. Association has given a financial aid of Rs.2000/- to Sri. Antony Joseph.

 
Project 45 - September 2003

Association has donated Rs.1000/- to Sri. K. K. Satheesan, Udayaparayil House, Karamala who is ailing and disabled due to problems with his back bone.

 
Project 44 - September 2003
Smt. Rebecca Vengachuvettil, Laksham Veedu Colony, Edayar is a widow. She is suffering from T. B. and Diabetes. The poor woman is unable to meet the daily expensed for medicines. Association has donated Rs.1000/- as a financial aid for continuing her treatment.

 
Project 43 - September 2003

Sri. M. O. Mathai, Maliyekkal Parambil, Thirumarady is paralyzed below the hips due to a fall from coconut tree. He is completely bed ridden and cannot even move around his small house. He has his aged parents, wife and a child who solely depended upon him. He is continuing his Ayurvedic treatment. Association has donated a wheel chair costing Rs.4,500/- to him to enable him to at least move around with out others help.

Our Association has donated Rs.2000/- to Smt. M. M. Rosily, Moolamkuzhiyil, Puttanimala Colony, Chorakuzhi, a widow who is solely shouldering the responsibility of a poor family consisting of a disabled daughter (Lilly Kutty) aged 28.

 
Project 41 - August 2003

Ambika Baby (38) Narikuzhiyil, Beena Colony, Chorakuzhi has undergone a major surgery for removal of a tumor from her stomach. Her husband is unemployed and the family is pulling on from the meager income from the whatsoever odd jobs he gets at times. To help them continue her treatment, Association has donated Rs.1500/- to this family.

 
Project 40 - August 2003
Sri. Mathai Mathew,(38) Perukunnumalayil, Puttanimala Colony, Chorakuzhi is a casual labourer. A fall from a tall tree 12 years ago has made him almost disabled, due to the injuries on the head. His family consisting of wife and four children is solely depending on the small income from casual works done by his wife. Association has donated Rs,2000/- as aid for continuation of his treatment.

 
Project 39 - August 2003

Sri. K. K. Sasi, Injakkattil, Puttanimala Colony, Chirakuzhi is a casual labourer. He has already undergone a surgery for heart problems. Doctors have advised for replacement of the heart valve. Sasi is unable to raise the huge amount required for the heart valve transplantation. He is trying to raise the funds through aids from benevolent people. Association has donate Rs.2000/- as a small help to this poor man.

Sri. A. V. Pathrose, Karavatte Ammamkulathil (52) is a casual labourer. His wife Sosamma Pathrose is suffering from Parkinson’s disease since last 12 years. His family consists of aged mother and disabled sister. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid for the treatment of Mrs. Sosamma Pathrose to continue her treatment at Sri Chitra Medical Centre.

Miss. Vidya Venugopal (17) Pathikkattil House, Thirumarady who was a student of V.H.S.S. had to discontinue her studies due to illness as well as the demise of her father. She is the elder daughter of the family consisting of her mother and 15 year old sister. Since last one year she is under treatment at Medical Mission Hospital Kolencherry and Medical College Hospital, Kottayam. Vidya who is a very talented artist has proved her ability during her school career. But now the fate of this child and her family is in the hands of destiny. Association has donated Rs.3000/- as financial aid to this family.

 
Project 36 - August 2003
Jessy Joshy wife of Sri. Joshi Thomas, Vettanal, Chambamala Jn. Kizhakompu is suffering from Retinal Detachment and she has lost the sight of both the eyes. She is under treatment at Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly since last one year. Joshi’s is a poor family which is solely depending on his income. Due to his wife’s illness who require constant care he cannot go to work regularly. He has two small kids aged 7 years and 10 months. So far he has managed the medical expenses by taking loans on interest basis and with no income, find it difficult to repay now. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid to this poor family.

 
Project 35 - August 2003

The family of 76 year old Sri. Ouseph, Injikkalayil, Elanji is a picture of pity and suffering. His wife Rosa aged 74, is suffering from cancer. He has three unmarried daughters Molly (38), Thankamma (35) and Chinnamma (32). Molly and Chinnamma are physically unable to do any work and the family is fully dependant on the meager income from casual labour works done by Chinnamma. Association has donated Rs.3000/- as financial aid to this poor family.

 
Project 34 - August 2003
Sri. C. P. Ravindran Nair, Chittethu, Koothattukulam is suffering from failure of both kidneys since last two and half years. His family consisting of wife and two daughters are totally dependant on his meager income and their total asset is only 4.5 cents of land. Ravindran Nair has to undergo frequent dialysis. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid to this poor family.

 
Project 33 - August 2003

Sri. P. N. Omanakuttan, Pallikkapparambil, Arjunan Mala, Koothattukulam is a casual labourer who is suffering from heart problems since last one year. Doctors at Sree Chitra Hospital Trivandrum have recommended a heart surgery which is fixed for October, 2003. This poor family cannot afford the charges of the operation and therefore, they are seeking financial assistance from kind hearted people. Association has donated Rs.2000/- as financial aid for his treatment.

Scholarship project

In order to encourage students of standard IX to perform better in their S.S.L.C. examination, Association has provided scholarship for two students each (one boy and one girl) from ten schools in and around Koothattukulam. These students have been selected by the school authorities based on their academic and extra curricular excellence in standard IX. Each student has been awarded Rs.1000/- The recipients and their photos can be viewed here

 
Project 31 - July 2003
Upon receiving a request from The junior Red Cross Councillor, Govt. H. S. Namakuzhy, our Association has donated Rs.5000/- to provide books and uniforms to ten deserving students who hail from very poor families. These ten students have been selected by the school authorities. The beneficiaries are Vinni K. Wilson, Saral K., Joemon Joseph, Subin Saju, Anju George, Geo George, Jobin K. Varghese & Shruthi Sreedharan.

 
Project 30 - July 2003

The poor family of Sheeba Mohanan, Mullasserikunnel, Thirumarady depicts a picture arousing sympathy. She is an unemployed girl who did her T.T.C. and graduation. Her father expired about two years back due to heart attack. She has her mother and younger brother to look after. Her mother had to undergo a major surgery and since then unable to do any job. Her octogenarian grant parents are also staying with them. They have to also look after her mother’s sister who is epileptic since childhood. Association has donated Rs.5000/- as a financial aid this poor family.

 
Project 29 - July 2003
Association has donated Rs.5000/- for continuing the treatment of Miss. Mini Chacko, Edoor Puthenpurayil, Palakuzha, who had to leave her job due to retinal damage of both the eyes. She has spent all he earnings for treatment at New Delhi and now finds it difficult to continue the treatment at Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly.

 
Project 28 - July 2003

Association has donated Rs.5,000/- as financial aid for the continuation of treatment of Master Anoop, s/o Mrs. M. K. Omana, Meemplathu House, Kizhakompu. Anoop is suffering from bone cancer and undergoing treatment at R. C. C. Trivandrum. The poor family is unable to bear the cost of treatment.

 
Project 27 - June 2003
Association has donated Rs. 1,500/- to Govt. Hospital Koothattukulam to assist them improve their waste disposal system.

 
Project 26 - June 2003

Association has donated Rs.5000/- to Sri. Paulose, Mulayanickal, Puthuveli as an aid for continuation of medical treatment Paulose and his wife are suffering from T. B. They are unable to go for any work and therefore, unable to continue the treatment.

 
Project 25 - June 2003
This is the tragic case of Sri. S. Rajasekharan, Chandravilasam, Ambalamkunnu, Palakuzha. He is a carpenter who used to earn his living from small time jobs. He was diagnosed as a cancer patient and had undergone treatment in R.C.C. Trivandrum. His wife Shobana has undergone treatment and an operation at Amirtha Hospital for tumor in stomach. His unmarried sister, Lalitha is also a cancer patient. His elder sister and mother also is dependant on him. He has two children aged 4 and 2 years. His only source of income is from the small pan shop which he runs in the locality. Association has donated Rs.5,000/- as financial aid to his family.

Association has donated Rs.3,000/- to Mrs. Elizabeth Stephen, Panachikkal House, Pious Mount, Kottayam to meet the medical expenses for continuation of treatment of her husband and special care child.

 
Project 23 - May 2003
Sri. V. Chandrasekharan, Chettiparayil House, Kozippilly, Koothattukulam, is a labourer met with an accident while loading heavy timber logs. His left leg was fractured in the accident. Prolonged treatments at Kottayam Medical College Hospital did not give any improvement to his condition. He is still bed ridden and moves out occasionally with the aid of crèches. He finds no way to continue his treatment and to look after his family consisting of wife and three children. Association has donated Rs. 5,000/- as financial aid to the poor family.

 
Project 22 - May 2003

Association has donated Rs.4,000/- to Smt. Raji Johny, Thiriyalil, Puttani Mala Colony, Chorakuzi, Koothattukulam. Raji Johny is a casual labourer, who met with a tragic vehicle accident in February, 2003. Due to the accident she had to undergo prolonged treatment and her family deserves this financial aid.

 
Project 21 - April 2003
Smt. Ambujakshi Amma, Mariyil House, Koothattukulam is a widow since last 27 years. She has 5 children. The sole property of this family is a small plot of land and a small house. The eldest of the daughters was divorced by her husband. She and her 2 daughters are dependant on Smt. Ambujakshi Amma. The eldest of these girls (Salini Narayanan) is studying for B. Sc. Nursing course in Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing in Karnataka. Due to financial problems, her study on the verge of discontinuation. The Association has donated Rs.4,000/- as financial aid to this child.

 
Project 20 - April 2003

Smt. Bindu Rajan, Kannullam Parayil, Illikkunnu, Palakuzha is a widow since 9.3.2003. Husband died on that day in a tragic accident. Her family consisting of 2 small children (aged 4 and 1 ) have only small plot land measuring 2 cents. As the children are very small and with no one else to look after them, Bindu cannot leave them alone and go for any work.
The Association has donated an amount of Rs.5,000/- as a financial assistance.

 
Project 19 - April 2003
Smt. Leelamma Mathew, Kurumbethazathu House, Oliyappuram is blind since last 14 years. She lost the eye sight of one eye at the age of 17. She was then married. Within the next 10 years the other eye also lost the sight. Her husband abandoned her when she lost the sight of both the eyes. She has a daughter ( K. S. Anitha) in this marriage Anitha completed her + 2 and is studying for laboratory technician’s course at Kuravilangadu. This family is now living solely on the charity received from Good Samaritans.
The Association has granted a financial assistance of Rs.4,000/- to this poor family

 
Project 18 - April 2003

Late M. C. Joseph, Montahlil, Puthuveli is the brother of above Mr. M. C. George. He was also disabled like M. C. George. He and his family consisting of wife and 3 children survived on the meager income of his wife who does laboring jobs. M. C. Joseph submitted an application for aid from the Association, but he died during the last week of March, 2003 before receiving the aid from the Association.
An amount of Rs.5,000/- is granted to his wife Smt. Aleyamma Joseph.

 
Project 17 - March 2003
Sri. M. C. George, Monthalil, Puthuveli is disabled from the childhood. In spite of his disability he and his family used to pull on with the meager income from small time labouring jobs by him and his wife. But since last 4 years he is unable to walk or do any job. They have 3 children and the eldest one is mentally retarded.
To alleviate the financial hardship of this family, the Association has donated Rs.4000/- to this family.

 
Project 16 - April 2003

Vijayamma, Moothedathu, Thirumaradi P. O. is bed ridden due to paralysis since last 5 years. Her family consisting of husband who is a labourer, and two children studying in +2 and high school are living on the sole income from her husband’s labouring works. A good amount of money is required to continue her treatment, which her family cannot afford.
The Association has donated an amount of Rs.4,000/- for the medical expenses of Vijayamma.

 
Project 15 - April 2003 - Mega P oject
For the marriage of :Miss. Sally, d/o Paulose, Thekkedathu House, Kizhakombu, Koothattukulam.(This is considered as a special case from the applications received for the mega projects and granted an assistance of Rs.25,000/-) For the marriage of :Miss. Shiny Jacob (32), Kunnumpurathu House, Oliyappuram, Koothattukulam.

 
Project 14 - March 2003

This a pitiable case of Smt. Mary Thomas, Manakkaparambil House, Thirumarady. P. O. Koothattukulam. Her husband died of cancer in the heart 13 years back. She has two daughters. The elder daughter Raji (20) is studying in 1st Year B.Sc at Manimalakkunnu Govt. College. The younger daughter Ambily Rajan (14)is studying in 9th Std. at V.H.S.S. Thirumarady. Smt. Mary Thomas and family lives in a small house which was built by mortgaging their sole asset of 3 cents of land. Smt. Mary Thomas is a cook in near by ‘Anganvadi’ and her monthly income is Rs.500/-. Smt. Thomas is under treatment for problems in her heart valve at Medical College Hospital Kottayam, since last 6 years. To add to her problems she is now suffering from peptic ulcer also. She has to have expensive medicines daily, meet the educational expenses of her daughters, and all the house hold expenses from the meager salary of Rs.500/- per month which she receives from the ‘Anganvadi’.
Considering the pathetic condition of Smt. Mary Thomas, the Association has donated Rs.6000/- as medical aid for Smt. Mary Thomas.

 
Project 13 - February 2003
This is upon a request from Smt. N. S. Thankamma, Parayil House, Karimpana P. O., Koothattukulam. Smt. Thankamma is a widow. Her daughter Nisha is a third year Nursing student at Divine Medical Centre, Vadakkancherry. Smt. Thankamma is struggling hard to meet the expenses to complete her Nursing course from the meager income raised by doing menial jobs in the neighbourhood. Completing Nisha’s nursing education and getting a job is the only ray of hope for the future of that poor family. The Association donates Rs.6000/- as an assistance to meet the educational expenses of Nisha.

 
Project 12 - February 2003

Sri N. V. Prakash, Naduthottiyil, Koothattukulam (33) was under treatment in Medical College Hospital Kottayam for renal problems since one year. The situation has deteriorated and the doctors have recommended kidney transplantation, which was done at P. V. S. Hospital Ernakulam by using kidney donated by his sister. Sri. Prakash’s family consisting of wife and two young children is unable to meet the medical expenses. The Association donated Rs.5000/- as medical aid for Sri. Prakash.

 
Project 11 - February 2003
Sri Jose Paulose, Karippal House, Oliyappuram P. O. Koothattukulam is under treatment for kidney ailment, since last two years. Over and above this, he has problem with his hip joint also, which needs treatment. Sri Jose Paulose has no permanent income and is depending on the financial assistance from well wishers of the neighbourhood to look after his family consisting of wife and two school going daughters. With the help of charitable assistance from others an operation costing about Rs.15,000/ was done on his hip joints, but there is no improvement in his medical condition. Now he is seeking financial assistance for hip ball replacement operation which costs about Rs.100,000/-.
The Association donated Rs.5000/- as medical aid for Sri. Jose Paulose.

 
Project 10 - January 2003

This is a pathetic story of Sri. Abraham Mathai, Mulayanikkal, Puthuveli. Sri. Mathai is a casual labourer. His two daughters, Mary and Shoby were paralyzed by birth. This poor family has done what ever was possible by them to treat these two girls with their limited income from labouring works as well as through the financial assistance received from kind hearted people of that locality. Tragically, the elder daughter, Mary, had succumbed to death at the age of 32. The younger daughter Shoby is 30 years old and still bed ridden in spite of having done Allopathic & Ayurvedic treatment for last 30 years. An average of Rs.7200/- is required annually for continuing the treatment. The Association donated Rs.5000/- as medical aid for the treatment of Shoby.
