Project 137 - August 2005

Mr.K.K.Kumaran Kulathingal, Koothattukulam receives from Sri KI Simon a cheque for Rs.2500 towards treatment expenses.
Mr. Kumaran is a beedi worker of meager income. He is an asthma patient for several years. He lives in a small house in "purampokku" near Bappuji High School, Koothattukulam. His wife Ammini expired last year due to cancer. His son is construction labourer and daughter in law is unemployed. He needs regular medication including inhaler.
 
Project 136 - August 2005

Mrs. Sini Reji, Kolappillil, Thirumarady receives from Sri NC Vijayakumar a cheque for Rs.2500 towards treatment expenses.
Mrs. Sini Reji, wife of Mr. Reji, is a breast cancer patient since two years and had to undergo a surgery. Mr. Reji is a bus driver by profession but doesn't have regular employment. They have two daughters. She is continuing her treatment in regional cancer center, Trivandrum. A tiled roof house in less than 3 cents of land is the only property they have.

 
Project 135 - August 2005

Mrs. Swapna Kunjumon,Thoongappillil, Thirumarady receives from Sri PC Abraham a cheque for Rs.3000.
Mrs. Swapna wife of late Mr. Kunjumon has two children below 2 years. They are twins. Mr.Kunjumon died due to kidney failure last year. 28 cents of land and a small house in it are the common property for Mr.Kunjumon and his four sisters. 70 year old mother of Mr.Kunjumon also stays with them.
 
Project 134 - August 2005

Our honorary member Sri NC Vijayakumar hands over a cheque for Rs. 3000 to Miss Ramya Chandran daughter of Mr. VN Chandrasekharan, Valiayaveetilparambil, Arjunanmala, Koothattukulam.

Miss Ramya underwent a total excision of right frontal AVM, a very expensive surgery in Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Science. She is from a poor family living in a sheet- roofed hut in 15 cents of land belonging to her grand mother. Mr. Chandrasekharan had to sell the house he constructed to pay off debts.

Our honorary member Sri PC Abraham hands over a cheque for Rs. 3500 to Mrs Lissy Binu wife of Mr. Binu, Aranjaniyil, Mangalathuthazham.Mrs. Lissy is a cancer patient for last four years. She is being treated in Regional cancer center, Trivandrum. The couple has one daughter in 1st standard. One physically challenged, 32 year old, unmarried sister and mother of Mr. Binu are also staying with them in a small house in 20 cents of land. The house has no electricity connection. Mr. Binu is a daily wage earning labourer.
 
Project 132 - July 2005

Mrs. Ammini Gopalan, Parekkattukunnel, Periyappuram, Elanji receives a cheque for Rs.3000 from Sri. PC Abraham towards treatment expenses.
Mrs. Ammini, 43 years, wife of Mr. Gopalan is a cancer patient since two years. She has undergone radiation and chemotherapy in Amritha Cancer institute. The couple has two daughters. Elder is working in a textile shop at Piravom and younger in learning stitching. Mr.Gopalan is a casual daily labourer. The income of the family is insufficient to meet the huge expenses for the treatment. They live in a small house in 8 cents of land.

Mrs. Nimi Rajiv, wife of Mr. Rajiv, Koladiyil, Alapuram, Elanji receives from Sri. P.C. Abraham a cheque for Rs.3500 towards medical aid.Mrs. Nimi Rajiv and her elder daughter are TB patients. Younger daughter is suffering from bala apasmaram and is unable to move or even speak. Her husband Mr.Rajiv is a timber worker having very irregular and insufficient income and is unable to provide food and regular treatment to his family members. They live in a small house in 12 cents of land
 
Project 130 - July 2005

Mr. Joy Thomas, Manackaparambil, Thirumarady receives from Sri PC Abraham a cheque for Rs.3,500 towards his treatment expenses.

Mr. Joy was a 37 year old timber worker having wife, two children of four and two years, aged father, widowed sister and her two daughters to support. On 1st June 2005, he had a cerebral hemorrhage and lost his eye sight and got paralysed on one side. Five cents of land and a small house is the property the family has. He had to spent more than Rs.75000 for the treatment and requires Rs 50 a day for medicine.

 
Project 129 - June 2005

Mrs. Usha Manoharan, Manosh Bhavan, Mannathoor Thattekkadu receives cheque for Rs.3500 from our honorary member Mr. K. I. Simon towards treatment expenses.Mr. Manoharan was a quary worker. While doing his work, he died in an accident. Manoharan left behind his elderly mother wife and two school going children od 10 and 14 years. They are said to be in debt to a bank for more than one lakh rupees taken for construction of a house. Mrs Monoharan and her mother-in-law are sick and not able to go for work regularly
 
Project 128 - June 2005

Jithin K Mani, a 10th standard student in Govt.Model HSS, Palakkuzha met with an accident in which he was hit by a lorry that lost control due to break malfunctioning.
His father Mr. P. P. Mani is a quary worker. They have a tiled roof house in 14 cents of land. The poor family had to spend more than Rs.40,000 for the treatment.

Association donated Rs.2500 for immediate medical expenses.

 
 
Project 127 - June 2005

Our honorary member Sri PC Abraham hands over a cheque for Rs. 3000 to Ms Mariakutty sister of Mr. Pathrose, Vadakkekara, Uppukandam towards treatment expenses of Mrs. Chinnamma Pathrose.Mrs. Chinnamma, 46 years, is a cancer patient undergoing treatment for the last four months. Radiation treatment was done 17 times. Mr. Pathrose is a daily labourer. The couple has two daughters, elder is married. Younger one has a low income job. They live in a tiled roof house in 20 cents of land along with two unmarried sisters of Mr. Pathrose
 
Project 126 - June 2005

Mr. Soman, Injakkuzhiyil, Uppukandam receives from Sri NC Vijayakumar a cheque for Rs.2000 towards treatment expenses of his wife Mrs. Leela.

Mrs. Leela is a 39 year old daily labourer suffering from Ulcerative colitis and is under treatement in Deva Matha Hospital Koothattukulam for the last 8 months. Her husband is handicapped and she has two children. Children stopped studies and has started going for low earning jobs. They have 4 cents of land and a small tiled roof house in it.

The second in the series of projects to assist Government Health Care facilities was donating the following equipments/ furniture to Government Ayurveda Hospital, Kizhakombu.

Project 124 - July 2005 - Mega Project - Medical Equipments to Govt. Hospital, Palakkuza
As first project in the series of projects to assist Government Health care facilities in the five Panchayaths - Koothattukulam/ Palakkuzha/ Thirumarady/ Elanji and Veliyannoor – Association has provided the following equipments/ furniture to Government Hospital, Palakkuzha as a contribution towards upgrading of the facilities of the Hospital.

Project 123 - June 2005

MK Kamalakshiamma is a 75 year old widow. After long treatment in Medical College, Kottayam for cancer in uterus, she is now admitted in Pain & Palliative clinic, Vazhakkulam for pain reduction. She is staying with her son who is a motorcycle mechanic in a small tiled roof house in their 20 cents of land.Association paid Rs. 3,000.00 to this terminally ill lady.
 
Project 122 - June 2005
Lissy Surendran, 45 years, a widow residing in Lakshamveedu colony, Kizhakombu. She was a concreting labourer. While on work, she had an accident resulting in damage to her back bone. Even before complete recovery, she had to start working again, but bad luck has come in the shape of a Jeep accident causing head and backbone injury. Doctors advised her to undergo a surgery.Association has donated Rs. 4,000.00 for her treatment.

Markose, 65 years, Vandabrayil, Kozhippally, Koothattukulam is a widower and a lung cancer patient. He is under treatment in Regional cancer center, Trivandrum. He stays with his son in a sheet roofed hut in Palakkuzha.Association contributed Rs.3,000.00 for his continued treatment.
 
Project 120 - June 2005
Aleyamma, 56 years, wife of KV Kuriakose, Kuttikkaattil, Mannathoor is a cancer patient in a critical condition. They live in a tiled roof house in 20 cents of land donated by a church. Kuriakose runs a small teashop in a shed adjacent to the house. Their son works in a soda factory.Association donated Rs.4,000.00 for her treatment.

Mariakkutty, 63 years, widow of Abraham, Perumpillikattil, Karimpana is a breast cancer patient. Right breast is surgically removed 3 years ago. None of her children has regular income. She is staying alone in her small hut. She needs expensive injuction every three weeks to contain acute pain.Association donated Rs. 3,000.00 as medical aid.

Ammini Joy, 55 years, residing in Laksham veedu colony, Kanjiramala, Puthuvely is diagnosed as a heart patient. They own 4 cents of land and a tiled roof house in it. Daily wages of a son and a daughter are the sources of income of the family. Her husband is aged and weak.Association has donated Rs.3,000.00 for treatment
 
Project 116 - Apr 2005
Thomas Joseph, 33 years, Thadikkitayil, Mutholapuram, Elanji is residing in a hut in 10 cents of land bought by a convent for him. His eye-sight is diminishing for the last few years due to complicated cataract and is under continued treatment in various hospitals. Recently he is advised to undergo a surgery. This partially disabled man has to look after two school going children and a paralysed son. Since the handicapped child needs constant support, wife is also unable to go for work.Association has donated Rs. 3,000.00 for his surgery.

MV Gopalakrishnan, 60 years, Muttathil, near temple Koothattukulam was a beedi maker. He is suffering from respiratory problems since long and was under treatment. The family owns 30 cents of land and a tiled roof house in it. With small income of the sons they are unable to bear the treatment expenses of their father.Association has paid Rs. 3,000.00 to meet the medical expenses.

Chothi Krishnan, 80 years, Kallumpurath, Puthuvely was a rubble worker. He is under treatment for cough / respiratory problems and acute pain in legs in Kottayam Medical College. He is living with his 60 year old wife in a hut in purampokku land.Association has contributed Rs. 2,000.00 to this aged couple.

 
Project 113 - March 2005

Sindhu wife of Karunakaran was a construction labourer. While on job, her hair got entangled in a concrete mixing machine and lost complete skin of her head. Karunakaran is rubber tapping worker. The couple have two children, mother and grand mother to support. Four cents of land and a small house in a colony are the only property they have.Association has donated Rs.5,000.00 for her treatment.
 
Project 112 - March 2005
Kannan Kunju, Kunju Kunnel, Varyappillil, Mannathoor, an agricultural labourer fell from a coconut tree and fractured his back bone. He is in complete bed rest. He has wife and two children. They live in a house in harijan colony and has 8 cents of land. Wife's wages from casual labour jobs and income of his daughter from a temporary job in a gloves factory are the only sources of income.Association contributed Rs.3,000.00 for his treatment.

KM Pathrose, 37 years, Kallolickal, Edayar was a worker in a quary. Due to a fall in the work place he had multiple fracture in both legs and hands. He lives with his father. Brother, wife and two daughters in a not plastered concrete house in 30 cents of land.Association has donated Rs. 3,000.00 for his treatment.
 
Project 110 - March 2005
Surendran, 37 years, son of Gawri Kumaran, Manikkunnel, Elanji was a timber worker. 7 years ago he fell from a palm tree and damaged his back bone resulting in paralysis of both legs. His 75 year old mother is looking after him. 14 cents of land and a small tiled roof house are the property of the family.Association has extended financial assistance of Rs.3,000.00 to this unlucky youngster.

 
Project 109 - Feb 2005

Thankappan CA, 35 years, Cherusseril, Thirumarady is a Diabetes patient for the last 10 years. A share in the undivided property of the joint family (10 cents of land and a house in it) is his only asset. His eye-sight is diminishing due to the disease.Association has donated Rs.2,000.00 for his continued treatment.
 
Project 108 - Feb 2005
Kamalakshiamma, 65 years, widow and mother of KM Manmathan, Mangalathil, was a daily wage earning labourer. A motr cycle hit her and had several serious injuries and bone fracture. She had her treatment in Kolenchery Medical Mission Hospital and then in Deva Matha Hospital Koothattukulam. Now she is now in Koothattukulam Got. Hospital with plastered limbs. Her son doesn't have any regular income and is unable to bear the treatment cost.Association paid Rs.3,000.00 for treatment of this poor lady.

 
Project 107 - Feb 2005

Geethu Santhosh, 13 years, daughter of PB Santhosh, Paramurickal, is a schwanoma (brain tumor) patient since 7 years. Santhosh had to sell his house and poperty in Palakkuzha for the treatment of the child and now reside in a rented house in Thirumarady.Association has donated Rs.5,000.00 for the treatment of this unfortunate girl.
 
Project 106 - Feb 2005
Gopalakrishnan son of Lakshikuttyamma, Krishna Bhavan, Koothattukulam was working as a photographer in a studio at Koothattukulam. . He is living with his old mother in a small tiled roof house in 4 cents of land. He is suffering from heart, lungs and kidney related diseases. Prolonged treatment in medical college, Matha Amrithanandamayi hospital and Deva matha hospital were discontinued due to financial difficulties. He is now admitted in Govt. Hospital Kootattukulam.Association contributed Rs.3000.00 as medical aid.
